Tim Pallas has effectively confirmed that the Andrews Labor Government will introduce new taxes and charges if they win the next election.
This morning Tim Pallas told journalists he can’t promise there won’t be any new taxes, fees or charges as the government needed “flexibility to adjust”.
At least this time the Andrews Labor Government is being honest about their intention to introduce new taxes.
Four years ago on the eve of the last election, Daniel Andrews promised Victorians he would not introduce any new taxes. Since that election he’s introduced or increased
12 new taxes.
As a result, Victoria is now the highest taxed state in Australia.
On the night before the 2014 election, Daniel Andrews was interviewed on Seven News by Peter Mitchell.
Peter Mitchell: “Daniel Andrews, all the polls say you will be Victoria’s next Premier. If you are, do you promise Victorians here tonight that you will not increase taxes or introduce any new taxes?”
Daniel Andrews: “I make that promise, Peter, to every single Victorian.”
Victorian families are already doing it tough with cost of living pressures because of
Daniel Andrews’ 12 new taxes.
The last thing families need is more new taxes because Labor can’t manage money.
