Daniel Andrews has now sold off $13 billion of Victorian public assets, including the Port of Melbourne and the land titles registry.
For a politician who claims to oppose privatisation, Mr Andrews is the biggest
hypocrite going around.
In selling a 40 year concession to operate land title and registry functions for $2.86
billion, Daniel Andrews has grabbed the cash but raised real concerns about the
security of land title.
The Law Institute of Victoria has said that this sale ‘may compromise the security,
accuracy, and privacy of highly sensitive personal data relating to property titles’. (Letter from LIV President Belinda Wilson to Premier, 8 August 2018)
Having avoided seeking parliamentary approval for this sale, Daniel Andrews simply cannot be trusted to secure the interests of Victorians and their most important family
asset - their home.
Given Labor’s history of hiking taxes and charges, Victorians deserve to know how much more they will pay as a result of Labor’s latest privatisation.
